Wednesday 8/3:
I am back at home now and it’s feels to weird. I liked the 60% weather there better than at home where it’s too hot. I just get use to something and don’t want to go back. So I hope heaven for me is a never ending cruise. Going back to what was takes me a few days or a week or so. I still feel like I’m on the ship sometimes still.
Alaska Cruise: Day 1 – Monday 7/25: Hotel Room Overnight
18 of us stayed overnight in a hotel and left for the airport Tuesday early morning. We checked in and 17 of us have passports; the other one has a passport card. It’s totally unfair because someone else had to get them the wrong passport. So, only 17 of us went on the cruise.
Everyone had a blast. I took 430 pics; some from shopping, the ship, water, ice, land, sea, bears (fake), and comedy shows. I have posted most of the pics on Flickr.
As you get on Disney’s ship you first look at all the wonderful sites of the lobby. Staff call your name and tell you where your stateroom is located. The chipset stateroom is just big enough for two adults and two children. There are other staterooms that you can sit and look outside if you want to pay $100 a night. The ship has three pools, one adults, one family, and one kids and a eating places by all the pools. You can buy drinks also; I like the Strawberry Daiquiri without alcohol. The top deck is where you can see everything outside well. I could spend all day sit seeing in Alaska. There is lots of things to do and see; movies, musicals, bands, and many more. You can spend all day looking at all the landscapes, glaciers and ice burgs in Alaska. Being on the ship for me the last few days is like being on a lot of roller coasters. My stomach heart a little from all the good food. I just wanted to go home but who knows when I might get a chance to see some of Alaska again.

Day 2 – Tuesday 7/26: Vancouver – onboard at 4pm
With a group of 17 it’s hard keeping track of 12 people with a disability sometimes. Getting through customs in Vancouver was a mess. The airplane ride down was not bed. Going to Texas was hour & half or so. But going to Vancouver was four hours long. We had to have our passports out like five times. Some of us went on Disney before and we did not get everything being a Club Member but we did at the end. We got on board and after checking in are state room we ate at Beach Blanket Buffet. We were all hungry seeing that it was half a day before we ate again. Then I went with some others and got myself lost. We had tags with all the info thou. Being on a big ship can be scary at times. We looked at the port deck on top and looked at the scenery. We ate dinner at Parrot Cay. As for being awake for more than what I was use to, we all went to bed early.
Day 3 – Wednesday7/27: At sea
Woke up at 7am (10am) and ate briefest at Beach Blanket Buffet. We went to see someone give a talk about Alaska (Alaskan Naturalist). Then some went shopping on the ship. Lunch was at the same place. Later I went around the ship to make a video. I was lost to some others but I pretty much know my way around now. For dinner we ate at Triton’s which was kind of dressy. Later some of us saw The Golden Mickey’s which was Disney films getting awards which was real neat. Then some walked around for a bit outside the ship.
Day 4 – Thursday7/28: Tracy Arms
Going to the Character Breakfast to see some Disney character’s at Parrot Cay. After we saw some humpback whales and later we all Tracy Arms view and narration. Saw some little to big ice beards and later a big glacier which is once and a lifetime chance to see in person. We spent the whole afternoon outside in the rain or on deck undercover and besides the rain it was worth it. You have to see the pics for yourself. Where going to my favorite place for dinner which is Animator’s Palate. Before dinner some took naps but not me. Dinner started off in black and weight and ended in some color which is so very cool. After some went to see Toy Story 2 but I and others went to see Music and Comedy of John Charles which was so funny. Then after wale others were asleep Bryan and me went to see the Stand-Up Comedy of Dylan Mandlsohn in the WaveBands room at 11pm (3am).

Day 5 – Friday7/29: Skagway
Ate breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet again. Today we are going to Skagway to see the town. Besides shopping we are going to pan for gold. We went site seeing after which was a overlook and grave yard. We ate lunch before that at the Salmon Bake. I have tried salmon and swordfish and did not like it. Jan said “What are we going to do with her”. I’m like my sister and don’t like any seafood but tuna. After four of us went to see Cars 2 in 3D and others went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 4. I was not impressed with Cars 2 but it was funny. Match Your mate would have been neat to see but Jan, Gary, and some others did.
Day 6 – Saturday 7/30: Juneau
Ate breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet again. Today we went to see Juneau and went shopping again. There was a lot of very cool stuff to see and buy or just look and take pics of. There was a lot of bear figures and others I took pics of. We saw some vases that I have never soon before. Just Add Sun gave out rings that brighten in the sun. Back at the ship we ate pizza at Pinocchio’s Pizzeria. Some went to swim and use the hot tub. Dinner is at Triton’s and we had a different menu every night. I tried duck as an appetizer and did not like it. Had beef tenderloin for dinner. Most of us went to Toy Story the Musical which was good. Thou at first I did not want to go. I had to go because everyone else was going. After Bryan and me went to a deck party with all the Disney characters.
Day 7 – Sunday7/31: Ketchikan
Ate breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet again. At least I’ve been trying seafood and don’t like any at all. We all have been having a blast. Today the ship dock’s at noon to see Ketchikan and go shopping again for the last time. I brought too much stuff to wear so my suitcase would not be over 50 pounds to go home. All the souvenirs will just have to go on my carryon. I have brought books to read but it’s hard when your roommate just watches TV all the time. I can’t believe we have only today and tomorrow in till we disembark. Tonight some are going to see the Comedy and Juggling of Mark Niger. There is a lot to do on the ship that you can’t do with a group of 17. I started packing my bags early. Tonight we again ate at the Animator’s Palate and we had a choice of Captain’s Gala food. I tried a bit of lobster and did not like it.
Day 8 – Monday 8/1: At sea
Today is last day on the ship. I like it but I miss Mark too much. Ate breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet again. I have been eating to many sweets that are too good. I started feeling a little sick because of the weather. Some took a walk around the walking track. Dinner for the last time was at Parrot Cay. The menu was “Till We Meet Again” and there was a parade of the waiters from the different countries. Some went to swim and some went to site see and we saw dolphins. Packing as to crazy with Jan helping. She is trying her best but I get so annoyed with help sometimes. It was just crazy packing for the return trip with everyone needing help. Before that we went to see Disney Dream’s which was so good I all most cried. . Bryan and I went to see the Comedy and Magic of Chad Chesmark and was very funny.
Alaska Cruise: Day 9 – Vancouver 8/2 – disembark after 8am
We had to get up at 5am to eat breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet for the last time.
Going back was an all day trip seeing that Alaska is a 4 and 3 hours difference.
